Minerals Matter is championing our sector to showcase the range of career opportunities

We are doing this by encouraging collaboration amongst employers to overcome recruitment challenges and to increase diversity and inclusion. We’re helping our industry employers become a job of choice, and develop a sustained talent pipeline by engaging with the world of education and essential careers partnerships.

We aim to:

  • Support the future skills requirements of the mineral products industry.
  • Champion a diverse workforce that seeks to improve social mobility.
  • Enable employers to engage in regional and national outreach opportunities.
  • Work with education providers and career partners to attract talent.
  • Promote industry apprenticeships and pathways.
  • Create an accessible front door to the mineral products industry.

Our Ambassadors

Minerals Matter is uniting the mineral products sector to work together to tackle the issues identified by the industry around recruiting and retaining people from a diverse population. In doing so the sector will be better placed to drive innovation, increase social mobility and ensure the sector continues to play its vital role within the economy.

It’s a big vision but the framework is in place to deliver against the following objectives:

  • Raising the awareness of rewarding careers and the difference people can make.
  • Providing the tools to raise standards and assure competency.
  • Becoming an employer of choice and sustaining our workforce pipeline.
  • Developing strategic partnerships with organisations that can support and align with our goals.

In line with these objectives, Minerals Matter conducted the 2023 Labour Market Intelligence Study. Its purpose is to understand the current and future challenges the industry is facing around recruitment and retention of staff and skills needs. Download the Executive Summary of the report here.
