Industry Ambassador Coordinator (UK based)

Location: Hybrid – home based with option to work from an office in Eastwood, Nottingham, United Kingdom

Annual salary (based on Full Time Equivalent of 37.5 Hours per week) £23,809.50 per annum

Hours: 20 hours per week (flexibility over working pattern)

Annual Leave: Your full-time equivalent holiday entitlement for a complete calendar year will be 28 days per annum, from which 3 days are to be kept for the office closure between Christmas and New Year, (plus the usual Bank Holidays). For part-time employees, holiday entitlement, including any entitlement to bank and public holidays, will accrue pro-rata to contractual hours.

Term: 2 Year Fixed Term Contract (with potential to extend or for permanent).

Minerals Matter is an Industry initiative aimed at inspiring people into considering a career within the mineral products and mining sectors, providing education and outreach on the essential nature of the industries and wide range of exciting career opportunities available ( https://minerals-matter.co.uk )

In partnership with The Mining Association of the United Kingdom (MAUK) ( https://mauk.org.uk ), this role is being offered to specifically promote the Mining sector in the UK, to attract future talent and ensure the sector has the required future resource to support this critical industry.

Working alongside the Future Careers Manager, you will help develop and deliver a range of industry career interventions, including co-ordination of the Minerals Matter Ambassador scheme, specifically for Mining and provision of resources to our network of Ambassadors.

You will be passionate about making the link between industry and education and ensuring young people are provided with as much information as possible to inform their future career choices.

We are looking for a highly organised individual with strong administrative skills and can balance multiple priorities and deliver against project plans and targets.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office (word, excel and outlook) is essential.

You will be dealing with a range of external stakeholders from industry, education and partner organisations (e.g. STEM UK). There will be a need to support activities and represent Minerals Matter a UK wide events and conferences. We are therefore looking for someone who is professional, can communicate well in multiple settings and is prepared to occasionally travel as part of the role (expenses will be covered).

Knowledge and experience of the education sector and careers would be an advantage but is not essential.
